Kaizer Chiefs Held to 1-1 Draw by Rangers in Spain Friendly

Kaizer Chiefs played out a 1-1 draw with Scottish giants Rangers in a pre-season friendly at the Marbella Football Center in Spain on Sunday, 12 July 2026.

The match formed part of Amakhosi’s European pre-season training camp as they continued preparations for the upcoming campaign.

Both goals arrived late in the encounter. New striker Etiosa Ighodaro opened the scoring for Kaizer Chiefs in the 77th minute, putting the Soweto giants ahead.

However, Rangers found a late response through Findlay Curtis, who equalised in the 89th minute to ensure the high-profile friendly ended in a 1-1 draw.

The fixture was played behind closed doors and was not televised or live-streamed.
