Stellenbosch FC winger Devin Titus is closing in on a move to Moroccan champions Maghreb de Fès after the two clubs reached an agreement over his transfer.
The 26-year-old is expected to leave South Africa to complete the remaining formalities of the move, with a three-year contract reportedly awaiting him in Morocco.
Stellenbosch and MAS Fès Reach Agreement
According to SABC Sport, Maghreb de Fès have triggered the buyout clause in Titus’ Stellenbosch contract, clearing a major hurdle in negotiations between the two clubs.
Titus is now expected to undergo a medical and finalise his personal terms before the transfer can be officially completed.
The move would bring an end to a long association with Stellenbosch for the academy graduate, who developed into one of the club’s most recognisable players.
Mabasa Awaits in Morocco
Should the transfer be completed, Titus will link up with fellow South African Tshegofatso Mabasa at Maghreb de Fès.
Mabasa recently joined the Moroccan champions on a free transfer, while the club have also been linked with a move for another South African attacker, Thembinkosi Lorch.
Titus could therefore become the latest South African to form part of an increasingly ambitious project in Morocco.
Stellenbosch Prepared for Departure
Stellenbosch have already strengthened their attacking options with the return of Ashley du Preez from Kaizer Chiefs.
His arrival provides the Cape Winelands side with additional attacking depth as Titus prepares for a move away from the club.
