Mamelodi Sundowns have reportedly completed the permanent signing of Katlego “Tsiki” Ntsabeleng from Major League Soccer side FC Dallas after exercising the purchase option included in his loan agreement.
The 28-year-old spent the 2025/26 campaign on loan at Chloorkop and has now done enough to convince the Brazilians to turn his stay into a permanent one.
Sundowns Trigger Purchase Option
Ntsabeleng initially returned to South Africa on a season-long loan from FC Dallas, with Sundowns securing an option to purchase the midfielder as part of the agreement.
That option has now reportedly been activated, with Ntsabeleng signing a three-year contract that also includes an option for a further season.
The decision gives Sundowns another experienced and versatile option as they build their squad for another demanding domestic and continental campaign.
Ntsabeleng Earns Permanent Stay
Despite facing intense competition for places at Chloorkop, Ntsabeleng featured 14 times across all competitions during his loan spell.
He contributed two goals and one assist while providing options across several attacking and midfield positions.
His performances ultimately convinced Sundowns to retain his services beyond the initial loan agreement.
From MLS Back to Chloorkop
The move brings Ntsabeleng’s MLS chapter with FC Dallas to an end.
He was selected with the 28th overall pick in the 2022 MLS SuperDraft after playing college football at Oregon State University and went on to make 92 appearances for Dallas, registering two goals and seven assists.
His permanent Sundowns move also represents a full-circle moment.
The Johannesburg-born midfielder previously spent time within the Mamelodi Sundowns youth structures before eventually pursuing his career abroad.
He now returns permanently as a senior player with experience from both South African and American football.
Sundowns Strengthen for Another Big Campaign
Keeping Ntsabeleng provides Sundowns with additional squad depth as they prepare to challenge on multiple fronts.
With another Betway Premiership title challenge and CAF Champions League campaign ahead, his ability to operate in different attacking and midfield roles could prove valuable over the course of the season.
