Mamelodi Sundowns left-back Thato Sibiya is closing in on a move to French Ligue 1 side LOSC Lille after the two clubs reached an agreement over a season-long loan.
The 20-year-old is set to join the French club on an initial temporary deal that includes an option to make the transfer permanent.
Sundowns and Lille Reach Agreement
An agreement has been reached between Sundowns and Lille for Sibiya to spend the season in France.
The young defender has completed his medical tests and is expected to travel to France this week to finalise the remaining paperwork.
Should Lille exercise their option at the end of the loan, Sibiya could make the European switch permanent.

The left-back progressed through the Mamelodi Sundowns Academy before breaking into the senior setup, making four first-team appearances during the 2025/26 campaign.

Despite being highly rated at Chloorkop, Sibiya faces significant competition for regular minutes in Sundowns’ senior squad.
Aubrey Modiba remains an established option at left-back, while Fawaaz Basadien is also competing for the position. Sundowns have further depth through Divine Lunga and Asekho Tiwani.
